The epicenter of this tremor was located 161 kilometers northeast of Sari city, where 255 thousand people live, and 56 kilometers north of Gorgan city, which has 244 thousand inhabitants.
The seismic activity was recorded at a depth of 40 kilometers.
There are no reports of casualties, injuries, or damage.
