Also in Hatay, Imamoglu visited the only Armenian village in Turkey, Vakifli, which was also damaged by the February 6 earthquake, Milliyet daily reported.

In Vakifli, Imamoglu was welcomed by the head of this village, Berc Kartun, and the local Armenians.

The mayor of Istanbul emphasized that he had heard a lot about this Armenian village before, but he had the opportunity to see it for the first time. Imamoglu noted that Vakifli is a treasure of Turkey, and it should be made more beautiful.
