Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev accused France of "political hypocrisy."

“A country that bans the Corsican language, which violently suppresses the movement for self-determination in Corsica. They stand for "self-determination" of Armenians in [Artsakh] Karabakh. How is this possible!?” Aliyev said in an interview with the Chinese media corporation China Media Group.

“During the war, when their political aggression was beyond all borders, I said that if they want to have the “Nagorno-Karabakh Republic” somewhere, they can have it on their territory. For example, around Marseille, where a lot of Armenians live. Let them declare the "Nagorno-Karabakh Republic" there, and we will recognize it. This country is still continuing its colonial policy. Take a look at the island of Mayotte, a French colony; to New Caledonia, also a French colony. And they talk about human rights?! This is political hypocrisy!” Aliyev said.
