The World Health Organization (WHO has recorded an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases worldwide between July 24 and August 20, according to the WHO weekly epidemiologic report.
Over the past 28 days, six WHO regions have recorded nearly 1.5 million new cases of COVID-19 and more than 2,000 deaths, which is 63 percent more and 48 percent less, respectively, compared to the previous 28 days, the report noted.
