Fragments of what appears to be an anti-aircraft guided missile were found at the crash site of the Russian Il-76 military plane near Belgorod city, TASS reports, citing operational services.

"Currently, a large area is being searched for the plane’s wreckage and metal structures. Elements were found on the ground that confirm an external impact on the aircraft. They will be sent for examination," said the source.

The aforesaid plane crashed Wednesday morning. It was traveling from Moscow Region to Belgorod. The Russian side reported that there were 65 Ukrainian soldiers on the plane, and they were being taken to the planned prisoner exchange on the same day. Three passengers and six crew members were also on board; no one survived the crash.
