With the results of 2023, Toyota Motor has strengthened its position as the leader of the global automotive industry, writes Drom.ru.

According to the company's own data, 11,233,039 Toyota, Lexus, Daihatsu, and Hino vehicles were sold worldwide last year. No car manufacturer has achieved such results before.

German automaker Volkswagen, which follows Toyota, sold 9.24 million vehicles worldwide in 2023.

Toyota's growth is 7.2% compared to the 2022 results. Positive dynamics of demand was observed for all brands of vehicles produced by Toyota, except for the commercial Hino. But this does not overshadow the general picture at all, considering that Hino's annual sales do not exceed 150,000 vehicles.

Against the backdrop of overall success, the progress of Lexus is particularly impressive, with sales increasing by 132% year-on-year.

Of the 824,258 Lexus sold last year, 355,606 were in the US and Canada, 236,587—in Asia, and 94,647—in Japan. The key to success was the release of new generations of the most popular models of this brand: Lexus RX and Lexus NX crossovers. Last year was their first full calendar year on the market.
