Turkish Family and Social Services Minister Mahinur Ozdemir Göktaş left her Israeli counterpart's speech at a UN meeting on Monday in protest against Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip, Anadolu reported.

Göktaş left the 68th UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) at the UN headquarters in New York when Israeli Minister May Golan was addressing the meeting.

Returning to the room after Golan's speech, Göktash stated: "While discussing equality issues, we cannot ignore the ongoing humanitarian crisis as a result of Israel's actions against Palestinians, which are causing immense human suffering."

"We must keep the ongoing massacre in Palestine at the center of the global agenda and redouble our efforts to end this tragedy. We must unite in our shared sense of pain and ensure that our voices are heard stronger and louder," she said.

Turkey and Israel have been exchanging barbs at the highest level since the beginning of the Gaza war, while drawing completely inappropriate parallels. For example, the Prime Minister of Israel, whose country actively provides Azerbaijan with weapons and does not recognise the Armenian Genocide, just the other day reproached Turkey with the "Holocaust" of Armenians.
