A woman in Taizhou, China, named Miss Ai had recently gotten her hand on a winning lottery ticket but she was unable to claim the price as the ticket was in pieces, World of Buzz reported.

On March 22, three couples, including Miss Ai and her husband, went out to have dinner together. As the men were drinking, the women felt bored and went to a nearby lottery shop.

There, they bought a scratch ticket and won 100 yuan (RM65) and were so happy. So, each of the women bought a lottery ticket.

When the next day came and the lottery results were announced, Miss Ai realized that her ticket was the winning ticket that had won $930,000.

However, she soon realized that the ticket was in her pants and already in the laundry! The worst part was that her laundry had been washed three times as her family members thought that she did not wash them.

Miss Ai did not give up as well and called the lottery center to ask whether she could claim the prize, but they said that only the bearer of the complete ticket can claim the money.

To deal with this loss, Miss Ai said: “I can’t think about it. It hurts just thinking about it. How can someone not be heartbroken [over this]?”
