A total of 24 members of various groups of the European Parliament have called on European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to ensure the security of Armenia.

"At the moment when the European Union and the United States reinforce their support for Yerevan, we, 24 European MPs, ask Ursula von der Leyen and Antony Blinken to ensure the security of Armenia, [which is threatened by Azerbaijan]," wrote Nathalie Loiseau (France), Chair of the Subcommittee on Security and Defense of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs, on X—former Twitter.

These European Parliament members (MEPs) welcome the tripartite meeting held in Brussels on April 5, which launched the concrete engagement of the European Union and the United States in support of Armenia, its democracy, security, and territorial integrity, their letter stated.

The document states that the international community has passively followed the Karabakh war in 2020, Azerbaijan's brutality towards Nagorno-Karabakh, and Azerbaijan's actual occupation of a part of Armenia's territory.

Azerbaijan does not stop using bellicose rhetoric against Armenia, accusing it of alleged provocations. At the same time, Russia is looking for an excuse to punish Armenia for its orientation towards Europe. They cannot remain indifferent to the threats to democracy and are convinced that Armenia is not looking for anything other than living peacefully with its neighbors and choosing its own path, the aforesaid MEPs added in their letter.

Also, they called von der Leyen and Blinken to make a simple gesture to go to Armenia and assure the Armenian people that they are not alone in their struggle for survival and freedom.
