The Chancellor of Turkish Canakkale University is proud of the fact that an Armenian church serves as one of the building of the university campus.

The chancellor was asked about the church condition being used as a campus, and he answered that the best way of protecting historical monuments is their usage, Turkish Haberler reports.

“The unused historical values are destructed. We are proud of having the church serving as a campus building. There are no churches in Canakkale, besides, our financial means are limited,” the chancellor added.
