YEREVAN. – Armenian National Assembly (NA) Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov on Tuesday received Ms. Vassiliki Dikopoulou, Chargé d’Affaires of the Greek Embassy in Armenia. 

Highly evaluating the level of relations between the Armenian and Greek people, they expressed a conviction that the ties and collaboration between the two countries will further consolidate, NA Press Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.  

Dikopoulou recorded that Armenia took huge steps toward European integration, specifically in the most recent years. She noted that Greece stands ready to assist Armenia to further enhance its relations with the EU organizations.       

Reflecting on Armenia’s forthcoming parliamentary elections, Sharmazanov noted in particular: “It is very important for us that the elections are held democratically, and the society trusts and believes in the reforms.”

The interlocutors also discussed the interparliamentary ties, the Karabakh and Cyprus issues, the Armenian-Turkish relations, the economic crisis in Greece, the problems of Armenian and Greek communities, and mutual integration.
