YEREVAN. – According to Zhoghovurd (People) newspaper of Armenia, President Serzh Sargsyan’s protection has been further strengthened in recent times.

“Sargsyan is visiting the NKR [i.e. the Republic of Artsakh/Nagorno-Karabakh Republic] and Armenia’s distant provinces with a helicopter, which is accompanied by two attack helicopters.

“As to why Serzh Sargsyan is traveling around accompanied by military helicopters, State Protection Service Head Hrachya Harutyunyan said, in an interview with Zhoghovurd daily, that this is just a standard measure that they carry out.

‘“Stemming from the safety of the President, and of the protected persons, in general, we are implementing standard, protocol measures, so to speak,’ he said,” wrote Zhoghovurd.
