YEREVAN. – Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan gave new instructions to his subordinates, in order to show a growth in the country’s GDP, Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun daily reports.

“He stated that a law should be adopted on taxing grants. This means the Armenian PM is following the example of the RF [i.e., the Russian Federation] and Azerbaijan; that is, the government of Armenia will oversee the grants entering Armenia, [and] subject them to both taxing and strong centralized oversight.

“[But] if the law is put into life, first, the grant givers [to Armenia] will reduce, [and] second, the grant-recipient organizations—with their tax obligations—may always stay on the agenda of the focus of the authorities,” Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun writes.
