YEREVAN. – Armenian Ministry of Defense (MOD) responded to the rumors spread by the Azerbaijani media outlets claiming that an Azerbaijani serviceman’s body was found in the neutral zone of the Armenian-Azerbaijani contact line near Aygedzor village in Armenia.

“This is result to another provocation of the Azerbaijani side which is proved by the fact that the Azerbaijani serviceman has appeared in the control zone of the Armenian frontier-servicemen, who stopped the diversion,” MOD spokesperson Artsrun Hovhannisyan said.

Hovhannisyan notes that the Azerbaijani serviceman might have been neutralized and injured as a result of the defensive actions taken by the Armenian frontier-servicemen and attempted to move back to local border by leaving the neutral zone. In any case, Azerbaijani MOD is fully responsible for the incident, as he should have never appeared in the Armenian side, he added.
