Information and Diaspora Minister of Israel Yuli-Yoel Edelstein is arriving on an official visit to Armenia on Thursday, Israeli consul in the Caucasus Ron Schechter told reporters.

The Minister will attend the ceremony dedicated to 20th anniversary of registration of the Jewish community in Armenia.

He plans to hold several working meetings and will make a tour of Armenia. Yuli-Yoel Edelstein and the accompanying delegation will stay in Armenia till Sunday then to leave for Georgia.

During his visit, a concert with the participation of Israeli and Armenian singers will be held. Head of the Jewish community of Armenia Rima Varzhapetyan said the Minister will lay a wreath at the monuments to the victims of the Armenian Genocide and Holocaust.

Rima Varzhapetyan said the Jewish community of Armenia comprises 800-1,000 people. The Jewish community has a synagogue, school and cultural center.
