YEREVAN. – The military command post exercises being held in Armenia are the next step toward raising the combat-readiness level of the Armed Forces, military analyst Davit Jamalyan said during a press conference on Wednesday. “The army and the society must be ready for war, if they want to avoid it,” he stressed.

Reflecting on the rumors that the drills are being conducted due to a tension at the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, Jamalyan noted that these exercises are in progress for already two weeks and they will end in several days. “As you can see, there is no tension. Everything is as usual,” he concluded.

He noted that tactical drills will soon be conducted in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), during which the military servicemen will acquire skills in using new weaponry. “The NKR Defense Army is continually complemented with armaments,” Jamalyan said, and clarified that this time this refers to anti-tank equipment.

In his words, the MOD, media, and NGOs need to work jointly to deal with Azerbaijan’s informational manipulations. “We need to be proud of the accomplishments [of ours] and vociferously inform about this,” Davit Jamalyan stated.
