YEREVAN. – The public transportation fare in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan will not increase on January 1, 2014.  

Yerevan Deputy Mayor Vahe Nikoyan, who is also chairman of the Yerevan Municipality commission which is set up to discuss the public transportation fares in the city, noted the aforesaid at Thursday’s commission session.  

In Nikoyan’s words, the fare issue will not be discussed until the studies on the public transport passenger flow are completed. 

He added that, once the studies are completed, they will have a clear picture as to which public transport route commutes how many passengers at what time.   

In addition, Vahe Nikoyan informed that they have instructed to conduct a survey among the commuters, to find out the quality of the public transport service, and the conduct and appearance of the public transport vehicle drivers.
