YEREVAN. – Energy relations between Armenia and Customs Union are not interfering with the gas deal between Armenia and Iran, Deputy Energy Minister Iosif Isayan said on Friday.

He said a group of experts from Eurasian Economic Commission had visited Armenia in December to study energy treaties with Georgia and Iran and concluded that they are not an obstacle to energy agreements within Customs Union.

“These agreements will open up broad prospects to receive oil products at beneficial price, to reach long-term agreements on gas supplies and opportunities to export electricity to Russia,” Isayan said during the roundtable discussion Eurasian expert club “Gas issue for Armenian economy”.

Armenia will in theory have an opportunity to export electricity in 2018 when construction of electricity transmission line is completed. This transmission line will bring energy system of Armenia and Georgia in a parallel mode,.
