YEREVAN. –  One of the basis of the alliance of four non-coalition parliamentary forces was a demand on resignation of prime minister and his Cabinet.

In the event of Tigran Sargsyan's resignation, the parties lost basis of their cooperation, political analyst Sergey Minasyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

On Thursday after a meeting of the Executive Body of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia, party’s spokesperson and Parliament deputy speaker announced the resignation of Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.

The four political parties planned to initiative no-confidence vote on April 28.

Minasyan said it is difficult to predict further moves of the political parties. At the same time, he noted that the parties tried to unite not only to achieve resignation of prime minister.

“Political parties usually do something to come to power, but they will not be able to achieve this goal for a simple reason: the number of seats in parliament is not enough, and street protests and rallies will not lead to the expected result,” he said.

Referring to  premier's resignation, the expert noted that Tigran Sargsyan not scored significant achievements, and most likely, the pension reform was the reason to replace him with a more effectively working person.
