YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Friday received European Parliament member Frank Engel, deputy chairman of the EU-Armenia Friendship Group.

President Sargsyan stressed importance of active dialogue with European community which is creating positive mood in  Armenia-EU relations. President added that the similar meetings is a good opportunity to discuss prospects for development of Armenia-EU relations and exchange  views on problems and challenges Armenia is faced with, president's press service reported.

The Armenian leader noted that EU has been and remains one of Armenia's major partners, and Armenia-EU relations are based on the common system of values.

President Sargsyan thanked the EU-Armenia Friendship Group for its actions aiming to strength Armenia-EU ties as well as for the Union's readiness to support the country.

Serzh Sargsyan assured that there are no changes in Armenia's European agenda, and noted country's decisiveness to continue institutional reforms that are a cornerstone of relationship with the European Union.

The sides discussed regional challenges. In this context, Serzh Sargsyan stressed importance of conflict settlement in the Eastern Partnership region, adding that Armenia continues the efforts on finding peaceful solution to Karabakh conflict under the auspices of OSCE Minsk Group.
