YEREVAN. – The 55-year-old man, who was injured during Monday’s explosion while pumping natural gas at the gas station in Yeranos village of Armenia’s Gegharkunik Region, has died a while ago at Surb Grigor Lusavorich (Saint Gregory the Illuminator) Medical Center in capital city Yerevan.

The man lost his life during surgery, the aforesaid hospital official told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“The other injured is in stable condition, he is conscious, we removed the fragments in his body. [But] they fell in his eye; we are going to remove it tomorrow [Tuesday],” hospital Deputy Director Gagik Manukyan said.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations had informed that the natural gas tank of a VAZ 2101-model vehicle had exploded at the aforesaid gas station, and as a result, a Mazda, which was parked nearby, was damaged, too.

As a result of the explosion, S. M., 60, and gas station worker B. A., 55, had sustained injuries.
