YEREVAN. – As a result of actions taken in the Interpol member countries in the nine months of the current year, the Police of Armenia were able to identify the location of 95 persons who are wanted by the country’s authorities.

Ara Fidanyan, who is Director of the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Armenia, stated the aforementioned at a press conference on Thursday, and added that 66 of these persons were arrested and 13 people were extradited.

Fidanyan also informed that, in the abovementioned specified period of time, Armenia’s law enforcement agencies received 89 new inquiries on wanted persons.

He added that the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Armenia is holding effective measures to find the people who are wanted by the Interpol member countries.

As per Fidanyan, 105 new inquiries have been received, in the specified period of time, from the Interpol member countries.

“Owing to the operations by the Armenia Police units, 53 wanted persons were found in our country; 28 of them were arrested, eight were extradited.

“We also have received inquiries in connection with eight unrecognized corpses, two of which have been identified,” noted the director of the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Armenia.
