YEREVAN. - The amount of investments in the Armenian economy reduced, announced the head of parliamentary group of opposition Armenian National Congress Levon Zurabyan, Armenian News - NEWS.am reports.

According to him, the group will vote against the draft state budget for 2015. The state spending are to increase to AMD 52 billion (about $126.4 million) or by 4.2% in comparison to the 2014 state budget. However, AMD 41 billion will fall to the growth of wages, AMD 6 billion to cover the increased cost of power and only AMD 5 billion to the capital investments.

At the same time, while in 2011 capital investments totaled to 27.3% of GDP, in 2013 they dropped to 20.5%. When compared with neighboring Azerbaijan and Georgia, the picture is reversed, Zurabyan added.

“Armenia is in a decline; in the first half of 2014, investments decreased by 1.8%,” Zurabyan said.
