YEREVAN. – The Office of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Armenia Country Office on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding.

The document envisions more profound cooperation in the protection of civil, political, social, economic, and cultural rights. 

The UNFPA Representative in Turkey and Country Director for Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, Zahidul Huque, highly praised the Armenian Ombudsman’s and his staff’s vigorous activities toward the protection of human rights in Armenia.    

In addition, the parties stressed the importance of deepening and strengthening cooperation between the Ombudsman’s capital city Yerevan and regional offices and the UNFPA Armenia Country Office.
