YEREVAN. – Azerbaijan will realize that the Armenians were and are the master at the frontline.
Armenia’s opposition Heritage Party National Assembly (NA) Faction Secretary Tevan Poghosyan, who is also a member of the NA Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, told the above-said to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
He stated this commenting on the special operation to remove from the crash site the remains of the crewmen of the helicopter which Azerbaijan had shot down.
“Special thanks to everyone who carried out everything without any [human] loss [from the Armenian side].
“[But] I would assess this operation as a lesson for Azerbaijan, international organizations, and us [, the Armenian side], alike.
“Azerbaijan will realize that the Armenians were and are the master at the frontline. And its inhuman, contemptuous, and disrespectful demeanor has harmed itself and only itself.
“International organizations shall realize that if they don’t change their method very quickly, don’t cease the vague calls of parity, and don’t start calling it like it is, solely their image will be harmed.
“And a lesson for us. We have to live with the awareness that our war is not over, and be ready any day to defend against the occurrences that are characteristic of war,” Poghosyan noted, in particular.
The Azerbaijani armed forces violated the ceasefire and shot down a Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Air Force helicopter on November 12. The chopper was downed during a training flight, and it crashed very close to the Karabakh-Azerbaijan Line of Contact. As a result, three pilots were killed: the commander of the helicopter, Major Sergey Sahakyan, as well as Senior Lieutenant Sargis Nazaryan and Lieutenant Azat Sahakyan.
The adversary, on the other hand, was firing intensive shots toward the crash site, thus, not allowing access to the area.
But the remains of these three military servicemen plus some necessary parts of the chopper were removed from the helicopter’s crash site through a special operation by the NKR armed forces. Two Azerbaijani soldiers were neutralized during the operation, but the Armenian side suffered no casualties.
