YEREVAN. – The coming winter in Armenia will be warm. Hydrometeorology and Monitoring State Service Meteorological Center Deputy Director Gagik Surenyan stated the aforementioned at a press conference on Saturday.

“The studies show that the average monthly air temperature will be above the norm by 1 to 2 degrees [Celsius], during the coming winter,” Surenyan said.

He added, however, that this winter will be snowy due to the warm fronts which will be penetrating into Armenia from the Mediterranean Sea.

The expert noted that the weather in Armenia will be warm in the first ten days of December, whereas relatively cold, especially at night, afterwards.

“There is no snow cover [at present] solely in the Syunik Region and in the capital city [, Yerevan],” Gagik Surenyan also stated.
