STEPANAKERT. – A total of 70.6 percent of the voters have participated in Sunday’s parliamentary election that was conducted in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR).

The chairperson of the NKR Central Electoral Commission, Srbuhi Arzumanyan, stated the aforesaid by presenting the respective data received from 279 polling stations.

Accordingly, a total of 72,039 of the 102,034 eligible voters cast ballots, thus securing a 70.6 percent voter turnout. In addition, a total of 575 of the 831 NKR voters (69.2%) cast their ballots in the polling station that was opened in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.

To note, the voter turnout for the previous NKR parliamentary election, which was held in 2010, was 67.8 percent.
