YEREVAN. – Victory in the Battle of Bash Abaran was achieved thanks to a common will of the Armenian people, and this victory was followed by others, former Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan told reporters.

According to him, this victory showed the unity of the people, and a basis of unity is respect towards each other.

“Today we are united, and we will always win as we won the Battle of Abaran,” Hovsepyan added.

Minister of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations of Armenia Armen Yeritsyan is convinced that May 28 is the beginning of the victories of the Armenian people in the 20th century.

“In 1918 in Karakilis, Sardarapat and Bash Abaran we managed to show the Turks that the Armenian people exists and will exist. I believe that the Armenian people should be proud, be strong and go forward,” the Minister added.

Officials laid flowers at the graves and monuments to the heroes who died in battle. The event was followed by a festive procession and a concert.
