YEREVAN. - Armenia’s Sevan-Hrazdan Hydro Power Plant (HPP) Cascade plans to produce 420-430 million kWh energy in 2015, Arsen Grigoryan, General Director of International Energy Corporation LLC, managing the aforementioned cascade told Armenian News – NEWS.am

According to him, the plan for 2014 provided for 550 million kWh, but the actual production was around 460 million. This year, as compared to the last one, has seen a little growth in generation, this being conditioned by the level of water in Hrazdan River.  “Overall, the water is not so much, but it’s relatively a little more as compared to last year,” he said.

Responding to the question on whether the company plans to apply for increase of emission tariff (currently the cascade has the lowest tariff among the generating companies), Grigoryan said: “There may be no need in this if the Electric Network of Armenia (ENA) duly discharge their debts to us.”

As reported earlier, under a bilateral agreement, ENA has to discharge its duty over electricity purchase from Hrazdan-Sevan HPP Cascade by the end of September.

The Russian RusdHydro concern is the 90 per cent shareholder of the International Energy Corporation LLC.
