The price of crude sunflower oil in Russia has reached 57,000 rubles (approx. $825.66) per ton, in one week.

SovEcon Russian company, which specializes in agriculture market research, informed the aforementioned in its release.

In October 2014, the price of sunflower oil had increased by 90 percent in the country and reached the maximum high.

SovEcon analysts note that the main factor behind this price hike of sunflower oil is the rapid devaluation of the Russian ruble. As a result, exporting becomes more profitable, whereas the supply reduces in domestic market.
