YEREVAN. – The family of an Armenian woman who died from a snake bite blames hospital staff for her death.

According to the son of Karine Tadevosyan, inattentive attitude of the hospital staff caused the tragedy.

The woman was in hospital of Ararat town in 15 minutes after she was bitten, her son Gagik told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“The bite mark was visible, the leg swelled and turned blue. She was taken to intensive care department accompanied by a nurse and an assistant. I did not see a doctor there,” he said.

The man is not confident that snake antidote was injected as he did not sign any papers. The woman stayed in hospital for 9-10 hours and was sent to Yerevan when the medical staff realized that she her condition is getting worse.

Karine died two days later at Erebuni hospital in Yerevan. Her son has not petitioned to police, but plans to file complaint to the Health Minister.

The Health Ministry first said that the woman died as she was hospitalized too late.
