It is said in the official website of the Office of the UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees), and especially for the Azerbaijani foreign minister, that 1,299 refugees live in Azerbaijan.

Director of the Department of International Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Armenia, Ambassador Vahram Kazhoyan, stated the aforementioned speaking at the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Summit along the lines of the 70th Regular Session of the UN General Assembly in New York City. 

Kazhoyan noted the abovementioned while reflecting on Azerbaijani FM Elmar Mammadyarov’s statement that there are one million Azerbaijani refugees.

The Armenian official added that it is not surprising to hear more and more lies from Azerbaijan.
