YEREVAN. – Turkey has perceived as a mockery at official level the recent statement by the Russian President’s spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, that Russia’s air strikes in Syria also protect Turkey’s borders and security.
Armenian turkologist Andranik Ispiryan stated the aforementioned at a press conference on Friday.
In Ispiryan’s words, developments in the Middle East are changing very rapidly, and Russia’s hasty appearance in Syria has upset all the cards of the players and sidelined Turkey.
The turkologist also reflected on Turkey’s criticisms against Russia, and regarding the violation of Turkish airspace by the Russian military aircrafts, and stressed that Russia’s outrageous statements show that it no longer sees Turkey in the Syrian issue.
