YEREVAN. – According to official data, the physical volume of Armenia’s industrial production has increased by 8.9 percent, from January to March, on an annual basis.

Armenia’s Eurasian Economic Union partner countries (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan), however, have recorded negative indicators in this domain.

This positive progress in Armenia is primarily owing to the double-digit growth in metal ore extraction as well as liquor and tobacco production.

But a 21.6-percent drop was recorded in the production of basic metals.

Nonetheless, there is some optimistic news for Armenia, and this time with respect to another exported product: brandy. Brandy production grew by 50.9 percent in first quarter of the current year.
