Military authorities of Thailand's has lifted the ban on leaving the country for a large group of dissidents ( activists and opposition politicians ).  Those figures were included in the black list after the military coup of 2014.

Exit permission applies only to the dissidents against whom no investigation or case was filed at the time the order was issued. This automatically excludes the former prime minister Yinglak Chinavatin whose government was overthrown by a coup , most of his cabinet ministers, and student activists who held protests in 2014-2016. According to observers military authorities "soften" countermeasures against the anti-government forces ahead of the referendum on constitutional changes that will take place on August 7.
