YEREVAN. – President of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Galust Sahakyan, on Thursday met with newly appointed Kazakh Ambassador Timur Urazaev.

The NA informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that, first, Sahakyan congratulated Urazaev on his appointment, and wished him success. Also, he expressed the hope that the Kazakh diplomat will contribute to the further deepening of relations between the two countries.

In the Armenian parliament speaker’s words, the contacts between the lawmakers of Armenia and Kazakhstan, as well as their collaboration within international parliamentary organizations, will enhance the intensification of discourse between the two parliaments.

In addition, the NA chairman underscored the progress in economic ties between the two countries.

Galust Sahakyan assured that the Armenian parliament will collaborate with the Kazakh embassy, and assist in the implementation of new programs.

Ambassador Urazaev, for his part, noted that he is happy to commence his diplomatic mission in Armenia. He likewise highlighted the need for further deepening of interparliamentary relations, and development of cooperation.

The interlocutors also emphasized the need for close contacts between the parliamentary friendship groups of Armenia and Kazakhstan.
