YEREVAN. - A consultation presided by Armenian PM Hovik Abrahamyan took place in the Armenian Government Tuesday.

The meeting addressed the results of the preliminary assessment of damages inflicted on Artik town of Armenia’s Shirak province in the recent days as a result of the flood. It was reported that active restoration activities are carried out now to liquidate the consequences of the flood.

The PM instructed to launch the process of compensating the Artik residents for the damages inflicted and involve relevant forces to complete the work on liquidating the flood consequences. It was decided to carry out the activities in two stages. During the first stage, means will be allocated for removing the problems which demand urgent solutions, the second stage providing for the fully-fledged examination of the gutters and carrying out of relevant activities, if necessary.   

During the consultation, the Ministry of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan made a report on the situation of the road leading to Upper Lars checkpoint. The Minister noted that he is in constant touch with the Georgian colleagues.

It was also noted that the Georgian side is continuing the large-scale restoration work on the mentioned road.
