YEREVAN. – The Foreign Minister of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian, on Friday participated in the 34th Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC)  member countries, in Sochi, Russia.

The results of Russia’s six-month BSEC Chairmanship were summed up at the event.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that Nalbandian also addressed the meeting.

He stated that Armenian specialists have contributed to the development of avenues for the BSEC small and medium-sized enterprises’ getting access to international markets, trade and commercial transactions’ facilitation via Internet, coordination of customs procedures, improvement of joint checkpoints, and resolving of several other matters.

Nalbandian stated that the Armenian side is taking a constructive part in the initiatives toward cooperation among national services in prevention of natural disasters and elimination of their aftermath, warning of emergency situation, and creation of a network of crisis management centers.

The FM added that Armenia supports the strengthening of the legal grounds for collaboration in the energy sector.

Edward Nalbandian also noted that Armenia favors the increasing of the BSEC role in the international arena, expansion of its cooperation with other regional and international organizations, and strengthening of collaboration with its associated organizations, observers, and sectoral dialogue partners.
