The Turkish policy has now come closer to the Russian one, Polish FM Witold Waszczykowski said in an interview with Polskie Radio.

In his words, a series of meetings and signature of important agreements between Turkey and Russia took place. “The Russians cooperate with Iran, which Tehran recently confirmed. There are certain Turkish-Iranian interests, especially in the Middle East, regarding the Islamic State. Does this mean that a new triangle is being formed? I don’t know yet. I don’t think that this is taking place. Turkey continues to be a reliable NATO member,” Waszczykowski said, Rosbalt reports.

The FM also added that on August 25 he will take part in the so called “intelligence mission” in Turkey together with the Romanian FM. The FMs are going to learn directly from Ankara authorities about the current situation in the country.

“Turkey continues to be a reliable NATO member. It adheres to all its obligations. We see no deviations from NATO policy from the side of Ankara. But during the trip with my Romanian colleague, we want to make sure that this policy is observed in the framework of NATO,” the Polish FM said.
