Armenia will have the world’s longest zip-line.

With zip-lines, extreme sports lovers are offered to pass over canyons, forests and waters, at a height of between a few hundred meters up to one and a half kilometers, and at a speed of up to 160 km per hour (PHOTOS).

The Yell Extreme Park opened in Armenia one year ago. It is unique for the entire region, and in the future, it aspires to become the longest zip-line in the world.

“First and foremost, the Yell Extreme Park project is aimed at promoting the development of tourism,” its director, Tigran Chibukhyan, told Armenian News-NEWS.am. “In particular, it is designed for tourists who are interested in active forms of recreation.”

The Yell Extreme Park is located in Yenokavan village, several kilometers from Ijevan town, on a hilltop surrounded by forests and deep gorges.

Both local and foreign specialists, especially from Austria and France, have taken part in the construction of this zip-line.

“The zip-line was built in compliance with international standards,” added Chibukhyan. “There has been no accident to this day, and we explain the safety rules before each flight.”

The Yell Extreme Park management also has ambitious plans. Planning has begun with engineering organizations to create the world’s longest zip-line, which will be 3.2 km long.
