YEREVAN. – At present, there are no Armenia citizens, or Armenians, among those affected by the earthquake in Italy.

Press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of Armenia issued a respective statement.

Accordingly, the ministry established contact with Armenia’s consul in Italy, 2nd Secretary A. Hovhannisyan, on Thursday at 11:30am, who informed that, as of the specified time, there are no Armenians and Armenia citizens among the dead and the affected.

In addition, the Embassy of Armenia in Rome is in constant contact with local authorities.

As reported earlier, the +390687788654 hotline has opened at the embassy, for the Armenian citizens who have been affected by and need assistance due to this quake.

Several strong tremors were recorded early Wednesday morning in central Italy.

According to latest data, the death toll in this quake has risen to 267.
