YEREVAN. – The objective of the reforms in government is to ensure an increasing economic growth.

Gagik Melikyan, Secretary of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) National Assembly Faction, stated the aforementioned speaking to reporters, on Monday. He added that these changes should become clearly visible very soon.

In the ruling party MP’s words, the renaming of ministries also will result in a change in governmental actions.

Melikyan added that their parliamentary faction convened a meeting on Monday morning, during which they also discussed the matter of renaming the Ministry of Diaspora.

“They proposed to rename the Ministry of Diaspora to the Ministry of Diaspora and Repatriation,” added the RPA deputy.

Anush Sedrakyan, vice-chairwoman of the opposition Free Democrats Party, for her part, argued that the renaming of ministries does not matter, and that what is important is the content.

As for newly appointed Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan, Sedrakyan stressed that there are no considerable differences between the statements by the last three PMs of Armenia.

Karapetyan was appointed Premier on September 13. And he, in turn, has appointed four new ministers, so far.
