YEREVAN. - It is a fact that the Ministry of Urban Development will be reorganized.

Acting Justice Minister of Armenia Arpine Hovhannisyan said the aforementioned to journalists on Monday, commenting on the draft Law on the Structure of the Republic of Armenia Government.

The Government has not yet finished discussing the drafts on reorganizations, thus the final wordings are preliminary, Hovhannisyan said.

“The fact is the Ministry of Urban Development is being dissolved. You will see how its authorities will be reallocated among other agencies and committees adjunct to the government,” she added.

Under the bill, the Economy Ministry, Ministry of Transport and Communication, and the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources shall be renamed as Ministry of Economic Development and Investments, Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies and Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources respectively. It is proposed that the Ministry of Urban Development be dissolved. The State Committee for Architecture and Cultural Values’ Protection will be established in its stead.

The aforementioned proposal was made by the new PM Karen Karapetyan during the recent Government session. The new structure of the Cabinet ministers should increase the efficiency of the governance, he added.
