The United Nations has received reports that the IS makes revenge on civilians in vicinity of Mosul, the area attacked by the Iraqi army with a support of the Western coalition, reports the BBC. The extremists have committed a number of atrocities, thus, they killed 15 civilians in the village of Safina and threw their bodies into the river. In another case, the IS tied up six civilians to the car to hauled them along the street. It is not known whether they survived or not. The Office of the United Nations’ High Commissioner for Human Rights also announced that  according to new data, the IS uses civilians as human shields.
