YEREVAN.- Attempts to resolve the Karabakh conflict shifted to a format of Russia’s diplomatic efforts and meetings of Dmitry Medvedev with Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders, said Russian political expert Fyodor Lukyanov.

He commented on a visit of OSCE Secretary General Marc Perrin de Brichambaut to Moscow and organization’s role in the Karabakh peace process.

“Even in the case of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, where the OSCE Minsk Group traditionally acts as the main subject of the political process, even there is no clear vision of what role the organization can play,” he said.

During his visit to Moscow Brichambaut said the meeting between Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents in Kazan may lead to resolution of the Karabakh conflict.

Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev will arrive in Kazan on June 24 to attend a traditional Russian President’s Cup horse race at the invitation of Dmitry Medvedev.
