UK authorities have appealed to oil refineries to maximize jet fuel production, continuing to prepare for possible disruptions and increasing supply flexibility, UK energy minister Michael Shanks said.
Such measures are being taken amid an expected increase in jet fuel prices due to Iran war, which could create serious difficulties for airlines ahead of the upcoming summer tourist season.
International Air Transport Association (IATA) had warned on Tuesday that the jet fuel crisis will first affect Asian countries, then spread to Europe, and then to Africa and Latin America.
