The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) report on the parliamentary elections in Armenia on June 7 was made public a short while ago, deputy speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Hayk Konjoryan, wrote on Facebook.

“In the report, among other recordings, it is note that the parliamentary elections of June 7, 2026 were diverse and well-organized. Voters were given a real choice between political alternatives. In the vast majority of polling stations observed, the course of election day was assessed as extremely positive.

In the report, it is recorded that the elections were held in conditions of extremely important geopolitical realignments.

The elections were being accompanied by external interference in Armenia, the scale of which observers have characterized as ‘unprecedented and concerning.”

The report highlights the economic sanctions and harsh diplomatic rhetoric used against Armenia to sway the election results towards opposition or anti-government parties.

According to the PACE observation mission, the election day was well-organized and calm.

In the vast majority of polling stations observed, the electoral process received a positive assessment, including the good representation of women in the composition of precinct election commissions.

During the [election] campaign, direct pressure from abroad was observed in the form of trade restrictions and security threats, the aim of which, according to the report, was to influence voters in favor of the opposition forces.

Foreign interference and external information operations had reached an unprecedented scale in a Council of Europe member state.

According to the report, the election results indicate that [Armenia’s] society has demonstrated its democratic stability despite the unprecedented scale of external pressures and the recorded shortcomings.

The PACE report records: the newly elected authorities have received a clear mandate from the people, which they must now fulfill with honor," added the deputy speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia.
