YEREVAN. – Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian held several bilateral meetings along the lines of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) Summit being held in the Democratic Republic of the Congo capital city Kinshasa.

On Sunday, Nalbandian met with Denis Sassou Nguesso, President of the Republic of the Congo (Congo-Brazzaville), Armenian MFA press service informs.

Nguesso congratulated Nalbandian, in connection with Armenia’s full membership in the OIF, and expressed a hope that the country will further develop its ties with the French-speaking world. In his turn, Edward Nalbandian noted that Armenia underscores developing relations with the African countries.   

The interlocutors made arrangement on accrediting non-resident ambassador in Brazzaville and in Yerevan reciprocally, and to stimulate cooperation between Armenia and the Republic of the Congo.    

Next, Armenia’s FM met with his Moroccan counterpart, Saad-Eddine El Othmani. They discussed the avenues for developing bilateral cooperation, expanding the legal and contractual domain, and stimulating interaction. Also, Edward Nalbandian presented the essence of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the Armenian and international efforts undertaken to resolve it.    

Nalbandian’s meeting with Djibrill Bassolé, the FM of Burkina Faso, was devoted to cooperation within international organizations and creating a bilateral legal basis. In addition, they expressed a readiness to enhance relations.   

Also, Armenia’s FM Edward Nalbandian met with his colleague from Côte d’Ivoire, Daniel Kablan Duncan. They recorded that the potential to develop the interaction needs to be implemented. Arrangement was made on establishing business ties and creating a legal and contractual domain between the two countries, and holding consultation meetings between the MFAs.
