YEREVAN. – The Fall 2012 military draft in Armenia will be conducted between the months of October and December. The Government on Thursday adopted a decision on organizing the fall military draft and discharge.  

Pursuant to Armenia’s Law on Conscription, those male conscripts between the ages of 18 and 27 are called up for compulsory military service, based upon which the rank-and-file composition’s military draft and discharge is carried out by the decree of Armenia’s President, and twice a year: between April and June, and between October and December. The Government determines the number of rank-and-file conscripts and the procedures for conducting and organizing the military draft.          

Armenia’s Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan will chair the National Recruiting Committee.
