YEREVAN. – The Regional Training Center for Reforms Assistance will be established in Armenia to effectively implement EU reforms in the country and to provide assistance to them, the National Security Council (NSC) informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.   

A document on the initiative to establish this center was signed on Wednesday. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Armenia Office, in the person of Patrice Coeur-Bizot, the UNDP Resident Representative to Armenia, signed an Assistance Certification Statement, whereby the UNDP expressed its readiness to provide assistance in the founding of this center.    

In his remarks, NSC Secretary—and Armenia-EU Interdepartmental Commission Chairman—Arthur Baghdasaryan underscored the establishment of the Regional Training Center for Reforms Assistance. “The Armenia-European Union reforms have a successful course today. [And] Having trained public servants is extremely important in the implementation of these reforms,” Baghdasaryan noted.     

In his turn, Traian Hristea,  the EU Mission Chief to Armenia, welcomed this initiative, and noted that the reforms are progressing in Armenia and EU stands ready to continue its cooperation with the country.
